Parish Commissions

At the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) much emphasis was placed on the role and involvement of all Catholics in the work of the Church.  In order to divide the responsibilities of parishioners, the Church developed a model that has 6 Commissions addressing 6 major areas of Church life.  This permits people with specific talents to join the Commission that focuses on activities related to their talents.

Overseeing the various Commissions is a Parish Council or Pastoral Council which serves to ensure the basic unity of all activities in the parish.

All members of the parish are invited to join one of the 6 Commissions and may do so by giving their name either to its chairperson or to the head of the Parish Council or to the parish staff.
