Religious Education
The purpose of this Commission is to provide effective channels for the transmission of Good News of Jesus Christ to the various members of the Catholic Community. There is a close relationship between the Religious Education Commission and the Worship and Spirituality Commission. One imparts the Good News; the other enables us to celebrate it. This Commission is responsible for the programs that reach children in pre-school, in elementary grades, high school students and adults.
Parents Sessions
Activities:
- Program is home-schooled with students meeting for a monthly class – the first Sunday of the month. During that class, an adult education session is provided for the parents.
- RCIA for adults interested in becoming Catholic, for those interested in learning about the Catholic Faith or for Catholics who want a refresher course
- Junior and Senior High students also put their faith into practice for the Church and for our community – “Souper” Bowl Sunday, bottle drive for “Lungs for George,” Camp Sunshine donations, pancake breakfasts to help cover the expenses of the annual Youth Convention
- Other activities include: Annual Christmas Pageant, Children’s Sunday (Readings, Offertory Procession, collection) handled by students, special Liturgy of the Word for young children every Sunday at Mass, and donations to the Mission.
