Who We Are

St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, located in Granite City, Illinois. We are a parish of the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America (under the jurisdiction of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia), headquartered in New York City.  Our Prelate is His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian.  We were assigned Der Taniel Manjikian as our visiting priest in March 2021. Look at the Home and the Upcoming Events pages for any updates to our Badarak schedule as well as other events.

Our History

Our forefathers established the Church in 1954, purchasing a former Bulgarian Church, which served as our spiritual home until 1997. In October 1997, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia consecrated the current St. Gregory Church that is located at 1014 W. Pontoon Road in Granite City. Our parishioner and member base stretches across the entire Metro St. Louis area and we welcome all to worship with us. Adjacent to the Church is St. Gregory Armenian Community Center which sits on 5 acres and was opened in 1986.
